It carries a lot of punch, which is great! Anyway the ending word on line one of that verse is not quite right. It looks like verse 1 and 2 are before the first chorus. It seems to me the verse you have labeled as verse 2 should actually be verse 3. The chorus is sweet, simple, and works very good! Nice job. Her saying she had his children too, may be a bit of a push. The only thing I question here is if the woman on the phone, and the main character would really have this much conversation. Verse two is clearly written in comparison to verse one. It's very distracting and I feel takes greatly from your lyric.

'Bridge Over Troubled Water' is such a stellar song I only think of it when I hear this line. Further into verse one you have 'My bridge over troubles water'. When you say 'My troubles on your shoulders' and 'Worries in your pocket too', are these her statements or his? I want to know who said this and possibly why. Your first verse is very confusing for me as written. I'd be interested to hear the final product. Throughout the read I had meter problems, but since you have a working melody that's not really an issue. Mostly in verse one which I'll address below.
